overmoled electronics from Cavist
One partner. Every stage of overmolding.

Cavist has been protecting and encapsulating electronics for more than 25 years. As a contract manufacturer based in Reno, Nevada, and certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016, we take products from early concept through high volume production. Our overmolding services cover everything from delicate circuit boards to rugged cable assemblies, so you get one trusted partner for sealing, protecting, and finishing your product.

Whether you need a single sensitive PCBA gently encapsulated or a fully built, tested, and packaged assembly ready to ship, our team has the process, materials, and experience to get it right.

Low Pressure Molding (LPM)

Low Pressure Molding is our foundation. It uses low temperature and low viscosity to gently encapsulate bare PCBs and cable assemblies without the heat and pressure of conventional injection molding. The result is a sealed part, often rated up to IP68. Every mold is verified with moldflow simulation before production.

Best for: sensitive electronics that need a first line of environmental sealing, strain relief, and protection against dust, dirt, and moisture.

2-Shot Overmolding

2-Shot Overmolding adds a second material on top of LPM. We premold the electronics for protection, then apply a high pressure shot of a durable engineering thermoplastic over that premold. The result is superior abrasion and chemical resistance, with biocompatible options for medical use.

Best for: consumer or medical products that need a rugged, finished outer shell along with sealed internal electronics.

Epoxy Overmolding

Epoxy Overmolding is a scalable, single material process built for high volume production. Using Epoxy Molding Compounds, the same material class used to package computer chips, we produce thin, rigid parts with strong abrasion, chemical, and heat resistance. It's a faster, more consistent alternative to traditional epoxy potting.

Best for: automotive and defense electronics facing extreme heat, vibration, or chemical exposure, and any high volume program where consistency and cost matter.

Cable Assembly Overmolding

Cable assemblies and connectors take a beating in the field. Overmolding seals the connection point, bonds to the cable jacket, and builds in strain relief where cables are most likely to fail. We work from your soldered or smart cable assembly and mold a rugged housing around it, pairing with our 2-Shot process when extra wear resistance is needed.

Best for: medical devices, automotive harnesses, and any product where a connector or cable needs to survive a demanding end-use environment.

Turnkey Supply

Overmolding is our specialty, but many customers want a single source for the whole product. Turnkey Supply covers procurement, assembly, overmolding, testing, labeling, packaging, and shipping, with one team accountable from raw components to finished product.

Best for: teams that want to hand off an entire build, from sourcing PCBs and components through final packaging, to a single accountable manufacturing partner.
